Description of the surgical procedure

Consultation

An initial consultation is a very important part of the surgery. The client tells the surgeon the reasons why they decided to undergo the procedure, and the surgeon explains what the client can expect from the surgery, what results are realistic, and advises them on the most suitable procedure for them. During the consultation, the doctor answers all the client’s questions.

Before the procedure

Before each surgery, it is necessary to assess the overall health of each client. With local anesthesia or local anesthesia combined with analgosedation, blood samples can be taken at a laboratory or by a general practitioner or internist.

The procedure

A gliding brow lift is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia or local anesthesia combined with analgosedation and takes about 45 minutes to complete. Before the surgery, the client discusses everything with the surgeon once again and then receives premedication. In the operating room, we administer a local anesthetic by injection. This may be slightly uncomfortable, but the injection only takes a moment, and the client feels almost nothing during the subsequent operation. Two discreet incisions are made in the hairline (one on each side) to allow access to the deeper tissues. Once the tissues are free, they can be moved higher. The skin and subcutaneous tissue are secured to the muscle on each side with a fine stitch called a hemostatic mesh. There are also stitches in the eyebrow itself.

After the procedure

Immediately after the procedure, the scar is covered with a plaster, which is left in place until the stitches are removed. The client leaves the clinic and it is necessary to have their transport arranged. A 24-hour hotline is available, which the client can contact if necessary. The stitches (the so-called hemostatic mesh) are removed on the 2nd-3rd day after the procedure. The remaining stitches from the eyebrows are removed on the 7th day after the procedure. It is crucial to follow a rest regimen for at least three days. Swelling and bruising occur individually and usually last for 1-2 weeks. You can return to normal office work after just a few days. Two weeks after the surgery, the client starts to do gentle pressure massages on the scars and begins to lubricate them with silicone cream. The scars are less visible after two weeks and barely noticeable after a few months, but it is important to take care of them. Pressure massage should be performed twice a day for several months. The postoperative care bag that the client receives from us after the operation contains all the necessary medications and creams.

Results and durability of gliding brow lift

You will see the difference already one week after the procedure, however, the final result will only be visible approximately 1-2 months after the surgery, when the mild swelling subsides. The durability of the results of a gliding brow lift depends on age, genetics, and lifestyle. The procedure can also be combined with a lower eyelid surgery or other rejuvenation procedures in the facial area.

Risks

No surgery is completely risk-free. However, these risks are minimized by a skilled and experienced surgeon, adherence to preoperative instructions, and conscientious postoperative care. The client is informed of the most common risks before surgery.

Frequently asked questions and answers

A gliding brow lift can be combined perfectly with other procedures, such as an eyelid surgery, a facelift or a lip lift. This combination allows to achieve a more natural and balanced overall result, as the rejuvenation of individual parts of the face is performed at the same time in a single operation.

A gliding brow lift is an ideal choice for clients who have drooping eyebrows that cause a tired, sad or stern expression or those who suffer from excess skin on the upper eyelids but do not want (or do not yet need) a classic eyelid surgery.

Other procedures

Gliding brow lift

This effective technique uses a subtle incision to elevate the eyebrow back to where it naturally used to be – with ease, without visible marks, but with a striking effect.

Direct brow lift

Properly arched eyebrows frame the face and add freshness and expression to the look. A direct brow lift is an effective procedure that returns the eyebrows to where they used to be before. The result is stable and natural.

Temporal brow lift

With age, the face loses its freshness – eyebrows droop and cheekbones lose volume. A temporal brow lift lifts this area and restores a youthful expression and natural harmony to the face.
