VASER lipo liposuction

Liposuction is a procedure that removes excess fat from problem areas of the body. The goal is to shape the body’s silhouette and improve its proportions where regular diet and exercise do not bring the desired results. Liposuction is not a method of weight loss, but an effective solution for shaping the figure. At our clinic, we perform VASER Lipo liposuction. This ultrasonic liposuction technology is one of the most advanced and effective methods which allow to achieve the desired result with low risk and faster recovery. VASER liposuction is a modern and gentler method of body shaping using ultrasound which helps to specifically disrupt fat cells without damaging surrounding tissues (nerves, blood vessels, muscles). Unlike traditional liposuction, it is less invasive, with a shorter recovery time and better ability to shape body contours.

Description of the surgical procedure

Consultation

An initial consultation is a very important part of the surgery. The client tells the surgeon the reasons why they decided to undergo the procedure, and the surgeon explains what the client can expect from the surgery, what results are realistic, and advises them on the most suitable procedure for them. During the consultation, the doctor answers all the client’s questions. During the consultation, the doctor also discusses the chosen anesthesia method with the client.

Before the procedure

Before each surgery, it is necessary to assess the overall health of each client, whether it is a procedure under local anesthesia, local anesthesia combined with analgosedation, or general anesthesia. Preoperative examination for general anesthesia is performed by an anesthesiologist or internist. For local anesthesia or local anesthesia combined with analgosedation, you may also have your blood sample taken in a laboratory.

The procedure

The length of the surgery depends on the scope of the procedure – the size and number of areas to be suctioned, as well as on the chosen method of anesthesia. The areas to be treated are marked on the client’s body. The targeted area is filled with a so-called tumescent solution – it helps to break up the fat and minimizes bleeding. A thin VASER probe is inserted into the body, which uses ultrasound waves to target the fat cells. The ultrasound breaks down the fat cells into an emulsion that can be easily suctioned out. Importantly, this technology causes minimal damage to the surrounding structures, making this body contouring method gentler.

The emulsified fat is gently suctioned out with a cannula. The doctor can model the body shape very precisely. In some cases, fat can then be used for lipofilling (e.g., for transferring fat to the face, buttocks, breasts).

After the procedure

After the procedure, the tiny wounds are sutured with a fine stitch, covered with a sterile bandage and a compression garment is put on. For the first 2-3 days, the rest of the liposuction solution mixed with blood will flow out of the skin wounds. The fluid will be light red. The second day after the procedure, the client takes off the compression garment with the bandages and takes a shower. After showering, special surgical tapes are reapplied to the wounds, and the compression garment is put on. The compression garments need to be worn constantly (24 hours a day) for 2-6 weeks, depending on the area from where fat has been suctioned. The first check-up will take place after 10-14 days, when stitches are removed. The last check-up is 3 months after the operation, in order to evaluate the final effect.

Risks

No surgery is completely risk-free. However, these risks are minimized by a skilled surgeon, adherence to preoperative instructions, and conscientious postoperative care. The client is informed of the most common risks before surgery.

Frequently asked questions and answers

You may be an ideal candidate for liposuction if you are struggling with localized fat deposits that are resistant to diet and exercise. However, liposuction is not a weight loss method. We achieve the best results with clients who are looking to shape their figure and get rid of problem areas of the body, not to lose weight significantly.

The amount of fat removed depends on the specific area, the quality of your skin, and your overall health. Typically, 2-5 liters of fat can be safely removed during one liposuction session – always with your health and safety is in mind.

VASER liposuction can be used to gently and precisely treat:

  • abdomen, hips, waist, thighs, buttocks, arms, back and double chin

This technology enables to treat even smaller or difficult-to-reach areas with high precision and minimal damage to the surrounding tissue.

At our clinic we perform modern VASER liposuction, which uses ultrasound technology to gently disrupt fat cells. Compared to classic liposuction, this method is:

  • more precise, less invasive, causes less swelling
  • allows for so-called body contouring – i.e., modelling the figure and highlighting its natural lines

The results are long-lasting. The fat cells that have been removed do not regenerate. If you maintain a healthy lifestyle, you can enjoy your new figure permanently.

As you gain weight, fat may continue to accumulate, but usually more evenly than before the procedure. The treated areas usually retain more harmonious proportions.

Liposuction is not primarily intended to remove cellulite, but in some cases, it can improve the appearance of the skin by removing fat deposits and by tightening body contours.

Non-invasive methods such as cryolipolysis or radiofrequency can help to reduce smaller fat deposits, but the results are usually gradual and less pronounced. Liposuction allows for immediate and more precise removal of larger amounts of fat in a single procedure.
