Breast augmentation

Breast augmentation is performed to enlarge breasts and improve their shape by inserting a silicone implant under the mammary gland, under the pectoral muscle or partially under the pectoral muscle. The procedure is suitable for women who are dissatisfied with the size or shape of their breasts. Breast augmentation can also correct breast asymmetry. Breast enlargement with silicone implants does not affect the ability to breastfeed.

Description of the surgical procedure

Consultation

An initial consultation is a very important part of the surgery. The client tells the surgeon why she has decided to undergo the procedure, and the surgeon explains what she can expect from the procedure and discusses all the options with her. The size and shape of the implants are chosen according to the proportions of the body, chest and breasts. At our clinic, both high-quality round implants and anatomical implants are used for breast augmentation.

Before the procedure

Before each surgery, it is necessary to assess the overall health of each client. Preoperative examinations for general anesthesia are performed by a general practitioner or internist.

The procedure

Breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and takes about 1 hour, during which the implants are inserted under the mammary gland, under the pectoral muscle, or partially under the pectoral muscle. The implants are most often inserted by the surgeon through an incision made in the inframammary fold or around the areola. There are also other techniques, for example inserting implants through an incision in the armpit. At the end of the surgery, the doctor inserts surgical drains as needed to remove excess fluid from the body. The resulting scars are determined by the surgical technique used.

After the procedure

After the procedure, the scars are covered with a plaster, and the breasts are wrapped in a sterile bandage. After the procedure, the scars are covered with a plaster, and the breasts are wrapped in a sterile bandage. After the surgery, the client is hospitalized at our clinic for one day. Before discharging the client, we change the bandage and provide a compression bra, which she will wear for six weeks. The first check-up takes place approximately one week after the surgery. A proper rest regimen is essential for the first two weeks after the surgery. After a two-week period, it is possible to return to normal office work. Sports can be resumed after six weeks at the earliest. We recommend sleeping on your back for one month after the surgery.

The stitches are absorbable, but we usually remove any remaining fragments during the check-up, which takes place two weeks after the surgery. Usually two weeks after the surgery, the client starts doing gentle pressure massage on the scars and applying silicone cream to them. The scars are less visible after two weeks and barely noticeable after a few months, but it is important to take care of them. Pressure massage should be performed twice a day for several months. The postoperative care bag that the client receives from us after the operation contains all the necessary medications and creams.

The next check-up will take place six weeks and three months after the operation.

Risks

No surgery is completely risk-free. However, these risks are minimized by a skilled and experienced surgeon, adherence to preoperative instructions, and conscientious postoperative care. The client is informed of the most common surgical risks before the procedure.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Breast augmentation can be performed using several methods. The most typically used techniques are augmentation with silicone implants or lipofilling – breast augmentation using your own fat.

While augmentation using implants is a one-time procedure (sometimes combined with breast modeling), lipofilling usually needs to be repeated once or twice to achieve optimal results.

At our clinic, we work with all types of implants – round and anatomical, in various profiles and with different surface options. The choice of a specific type of implant depends on the individual anatomy of the client and her personal preferences.

The choice of implant size and shape is the result of thorough measurements and consultation. We base our decision on the client’s anatomical proportions and her ideas of the desired outcome. The goal is to achieve an aesthetic and natural appearance in harmony with the client’s body.

Yes, you can. Photos can be very useful in clarifying the client´s expectations. The perception of breast size and shape is very individual, and visual aids help us to understand your wishes more accurately.

There are several options for implant placement – under the pectoral muscle, under the gland, or using the “dual plane” method, which means partly under the muscle and partly under the mammary gland. The most appropriate technique is always recommended to the client according to her anatomy.

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, and the client does not feel pain during the surgery. After waking up, pressure or slight discomfort may be felt, which can be easily relieved with common analgesics.

The final settlement of the implants and achievement of a natural-looking result usually occurs within six to twelve months after the procedure.

The price of the procedure includes implants, general anesthesia, surgical procedure, hospitalization, postoperative medications, a post-surgery compression bra, and all follow-up care, including post-operative appointments.
